My First Blog Post

Can 2021 get any worse? What started in 2019 has now spread to 2021.  The Corona virus has been something everybody knows about. On the other hand, some people don’t know about  B.1.1.7..  B.1.1.7. is a mutant of Covid 19.

There was a new strain of Covid found coming from England. It was first found in young school children, but now everybody can get it. There is still a high risk for everybody. There is a higher risk for older people, just like the coronavirus.

B.1.1.7. has been found in a man in Colorado. His symptoms were just like the coronavirus. There was also another covid variant found in Nigeria and South Africa. These variants were said to be just like  B.1.1.7.

B.1.1.7. could be a higher risk than the coronavirus. It’s infection rate is said to be much higher. It is 70% more infectious than previous covid strains. More than 60% of covid cases in the UK have actually been B.1.1.7.

The symptoms for B.1.1.7 are just like the coronavirus. Some of the symptoms include nausea, loss of smell, coughing bouts, fever, aches and chills. There are still some symptoms that are undetermined, like severe infection.

Let’s hope that 2021 brings a vaccine for not only Covid but B.1.1.7.

  1. I like how you included the percentage when talking about B.1.1.7., This shows that there could be even more strands of this that we don't know about yet. Don't forget to social distance when meeting people.

    1. Offfcials say that if you social distance and wear a mask then there is a low chance of getting the virus's. Getting the vaccine can also help stop them.

  2. I like your blog it was written well and its very informational. I just think I was not the right person to read this because I have bad anxiety. Other than that I agree and hope that this year the B.1.1.7 and all the other covids are cured.

  3. Your blog was very informative and I liked that it was easy to read but it still had a lot of information. People should remember to wear masks and social distance to protect themselves and others around them. I heard that at Disney Word they kick you off the park if you don't have your mask on right. I really hope the vaccine is effective so we can finally get this pandemic over with.

  4. I enjoyed how you explained what this new B.1.1.7. is, and how it is different from COVID. I haven't known much about this new virus until now, thanks to how well you explained it. My one question, is how many people have had this new virus in the US?

    1. As of Janurary 22, there are 195 cases in the US. I noticed that california and florida has 72 and 50 cases, while the other states only have an average of 4 cases. On the other hand, these arn´t exact. Some of the cases are counted as the coronavirus because they are so alike.

  6. I had now clue about the B.1.1.7. variant of covid 19. It is good to know what it is so that I can learn more about this virus, and learn more ways to keep myself from getting it. Covid has had a big affect on all of us. I wonder if next time you could say a few more facts like how many people have been infected.
